Dr. Mo Chen received his Ph.D. degree with a major in Environmental Engineering from University of Southern California. His Ph.D. thesis primarily focuses on assessing the impact of climate change on energy consumption, electricity grid operation, and vulnerable population.

Dr. Chen also received a Master’s degree in Computer Science from University of Southern California and a Master’s degree in Environmental Science from Peking University. He has 15 years of experience researching, teaching, and working in the environmental and sustainability field.

Currently, Dr. Chen is working as an Air Resources Engineer at California Air Resources Board, focusing on big data analytics, air pollutant emissions inventory modeling, and public-facing web portal development. He is passionate about providing scientific and data support for air pollution and carbon reduction regulations in California, with an ultimate goal of improving California’s air quality and achieving carbon neutrality.
